How to create a new plan


To create a plan in Brixx, you select the “New Plan” option, either from “Plans” section of your Account, or from the drop down of your profile icon in the top right.

The first screen which greets you before entering your new plan, needs you to make some choices. Don’t worry - all of these can be modified later in the plan settings.

 

You can:

  • Select a plan template (or start from scratch)
  • Set the name for your plan (you can always change it later)
  • Pick the plan start date and duration (you can always change it later)
  • Choose a currency (you can always change it later)
  • Set a Tax system (you can always change it later)
  • Start your plan by integrating with your Xero accounting system

 

The plan start date defines the first month you need to enter forecasting data for. Anything before this point will be part of the opening balance. 

Although Brixx is primarily focused on future planning, you can still set the start month of the plan to a date in the past to include one or more months of actual data. In that case, keep in mind that the opening figures for components and the opening balance should reflect the values of assets, liabilities, etc. at the start of the plan, not the current date.
